MIRACLES ARE SEEN IN LIGHT

Learning is sometimes difficult, indeed, but only because change is often associated with insecurity instead of emerging Good. As a result, miracles tend to be resisted unless one is in a moment of defenselessness . . . humility.Think about it. It is because a miracle is the sudden experience of unexpected good that it seems miraculous—right?
Not calculated, not having been purposely finessed into ones experience, a miracle is an event that one is unable to take credit for, and is quite often the result of having involuntarily or accidentally given permission for “thy will, not mine be done.”
As one is willing to honestly give attention to the nature of miracles in his experience, or that of others, the light begins to dawn, illuminating the fact that if “thy will be done,” is saying “yes” to God, then necessarily, “my will be done“ is saying “no” to God. Simple. Incontrovertible. Clarifying. Grounding.
Here is another way of putting it: A relationship with God is never a negotiation. When we ask for help and get it, we are not getting what we want. God is getting what He wants—our attention and our cooperation—which, surprise of surprises, is something far greater than whatever it was we thought we were asking for.
Yes, our “attention is God’s treasure,” and our attention and cooperation is called co-creation . . . us fulfilling our Function. And that experience is a “sudden experience of good” which is a miracle to us because that isn’t what we were expecting.
Asking for and getting help can be conceived to be a desire granted by the Father, the answer to prayer—a “negotiation,” as it were. But it’s really us, in our own right, getting out of the Father’s way, and no longer being the resistance which is an “us” in our own right blocking the original, only, and ever-present state of Being . . . conscious!
Here is yet another way of putting it: Perception is a bias applied to Reality, like torque applied to a metal bar, distorting the Conscious Experience of Being without altering It. Atonement, on the other hand, is the releasing of bias, the releasing of willfulness and the reduction of associated stress—the “allowing of” the original, only, and ever-present state of Being to become visible.
Learning involves letting redefinition of the meaning of things occur, because it is only one’s present unrecognized biases which justify his unwillingness to see his own or another’s good beyond a certain point.
I am aware that my lack of support for “the practice of thrift”—the enforcement of justified lack—and “the conservation of good”—stinginess, when it comes to sharing one’s good—is putting many of you up against the conflict of your caring and the apparent pressure of Paul’s and Susan’s situation calling for action which you would not be able to justify for yourself and therefore cannot justify for them.
This brings into play whatever each one’s current torqued perspective is in his own life—which runs the gamut from . . .
. . . “one must bite the bullet and sacrifice” . . .
. . . to . . .
. . . “thrift is the only reasonable solution” . . .
. . . all the way to . . .
. . . grasping the import of what I’m teaching and “giving permission to fully embrace the ‘emerging good’ which is pushing you beyond the seeming security of the conditioning of ‘thrift’ and ‘stinginess’!
Wholeness is not “too much!” It also is not a possession. And if no one was competing for it, no one would hoard it. After all, you have to have someplace to store it if it’s your possession. And it’s already filling all space, because that’s what it takes. It is something to let everybody have. Then you don’t have to be “great,” “special,” or “somebody,” because . . .
. . . you are Whole . . .
. . . and so is everyone else! . . .
. . . And no one’s Wholeness infringes upon . . .
. . . anyone else’s Wholeness . . .
. . . just as, from the inside of a diamond, . .
. . . the Wholeness of the facet you are . . .
. . . is the Wholeness of every other facet as well . . .
. . . The Brotherhood of facets is, in actuality, ONE!
When everyone realizes that being 100% Whole is not an option or choice, “too much” or “too little” will become meaningless, and no one will waste his time or energy trying to accumulate it, store it, or have to protect himself from its loss.
Functioning on the basis of Gift, which is what I am teaching here, is being in the context of Love. And being in the context of Love is minus commerce, commercialism, transaction, negotiation, inequity, gain, loss, recovery, manipulation, control, scarcity . . . and it is the end of helping each other accept less and cope with less as though that were a righteous and satisfactory solution to problems. That is the emancipating fact!
In closing, consider this from Lesson 91 in the Workbook of A Course in Miracles:
“It is important to remember that miracles and vision necessarily go together. This needs repeating and frequent repeating. It is a central idea in your new thought system and the perception which it produces. The miracle is always there. Its presence is not caused by your vision; its absence is not the result of your failure to see. It is only your awareness of miracles that is affected. You will see it in the light; you will not see it in the dark.
“To you, then, light is crucial. While you remain in darkness, the miracle remains unseen. Thus you are convinced it is not there. This follows from the premises from which the darkness comes. Denial of light leads to failure to perceive it. Failure to perceive light is to perceive darkness. The light is useless to you then, even though it is there. You cannot use it because its presence is unknown to you. And the seeming reality of the darkness makes the idea of light meaningless.
“To be told that what you do not see is there sounds like insanity. It is very difficult to become convinced that it is insanity not to see what is there and to see what is not there instead. You do not doubt that the body’s eyes can see. You do not doubt the images they show you are reality. Your faith lies in the darkness, not the light.
“How can this be reversed? For you it is impossible, but you are not alone in this. Your efforts, however little they may be have strong support. Did you but realize how great this strength, your doubts would vanish. Today we will devote ourselves to the attempt to let you feel this strength. When you have felt the strength in you which makes all miracles within your easy reach, you will not doubt. The miracles your sense of weakness hides will leap into awareness as you feel the strength in you.”
Everyone’s help is seriously and respectfully invited and needed. Paul and Susan, Chris and Judy—and every one of you—need to be free of uncertainty and doubt regarding things as basic as home, and whether you can have, ought to have, deserve to have or really need what you need. God did not create you with a choice, and the insinuation that you have to make one is the lie and the father of the lie which it is my Function to distract you from. I will continue to teach that God is in His holy place and all is well [Whole], and ask, “Who told thee otherwise?”
Do not be offended at my persistence. I said, “I will not leave you comfortless.” I will not leave you at the mercy of an ignorant belief. It is my Function to promote the “miracle,” which means it is my Function to promote sudden shifts of perception—I’m here to change your mind!
I love you all.
