Following protests that took place outside the proposed

Abercrombie and Fitch childrens wear store on Savile Row earlier this week, Westminster City Council maintains that the dispute must be resolved between the two trade groups - and that the demonstrations would not influence any official decisions.

Abercrombie UK, Banners read slogans such as: "Give Three-Piece A Chance." A spokesperson for the iconic street's industry body, Savile Row Bespoke, has reiterated why the planned shop opening will damage the street's reputation.

"Savile Row is known the world over as the home of bespoke menswear and is one of London's most famous streets," a spokesperson for Savile Row Bespoke told WWD. "As a result, we can appreciate Abercrombie and Fitch UK's desire to be a part of this - the irony is that their presence serves as a gradual erosion of the very character of Savile Row that they wish to benefit from. The questions for Westminster Council and the people of London are: Do we want Savile Row to become just another high street? Bespoke tailors have worked here for over 200 years - that's what makes this place special. Lose it, and it's gone forever."
