Random quote: "When you make the two one, and when you make the inner as the outer and the outer as the inner and the above as the below, and when you make the male and the female into a single one, so that the male will not be male and the female not be female, when you make eyes in the place of an eye, and a hand in the place of a hand, and a foot in the place of a foot, and an image in the place of an image, then shall you enter the Kingdom." (Jesus, Gospel of Thomas)

Subject: The Gospel of Philip

The Gospel of Philip is a gnostic text.  It speaks much of the "bridal chamber".... and posits that the purpose of Christ's coming is to reunite 'Adam' and Eve".... Just as husband and wife unite in the bridal chamber, so also the reunion effected by Christ takes place in the bridal chamber, the sacramental, spiritual one..... where a person receives a foretaste..... an assurance..... of ultimate union with a holy, heavenly counterpart.

[Christ came to repair the separation which was from the beginning and again unite the two]

Somebody mentioned Jesus kissing mary...... perhaps they referred to the gospel of philip:

[And the companion of the Savior is Mary Magdalene. But Christ loved her more than all the disciples and used to kiss her often on her mouth. The rest of the disciples were offended by it and expressed disapproval. They said to him, "Why do you love her more than all of us?" The Savior answered and said to them, "Why do I not love you like her?" When a blind man and one who sees are both together in darkness, they are no different from one another. Whe the light comes, then he who sees will see the light, and he who is blind will remain in darkness.]

However...... to further confuse things...... the gospel of philip names Jesus' sister as mary too.

Peace forever,
